Michael Donoghue – Director of Performance

Michael Donoghue is the Director of Performance of Athletic Performance Training Systems facility located in Falmouth, MA. Since graduating Springfield College with a degree in Exercise Science(2013), he has applied his knowledge of training to coach youth players – to professional athletes and even Olympians. Serving as the Associate Coach in Chief for USA Hockey Massachusetts District, Mike speaks at hockey coaches clinics around the state regarding long term athletic development and off-ice training. Mike completed an internship with the Springfield Falcons(AHL) under head strength coach Dan Gregory. Mike enjoys spending time fishing and commuting to work

Artie Hairston – Performance Coach

Springfield College B.S. in Applied Exercise Science, CSCS, FMS


Artie is the top physical preparation coach at APT in Falmouth, MA. Since arriving at APT’s  Falmouth location, he has helped shape the training curriculum with advanced training principles. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College(2015). During his time there he also was mentored by some of the top professionals within the strength and conditioning industry and completed a number of internships to develop his craft. He was also a member of the Springfield College football team. Artie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and has completed extensive continuing education coursework through FMS, FRC and the Postural Restoration Institute among others. Outside of professional interests, he prioritizes time with family and friends, weight training, and enjoys long walks on the beach.

Sara Culhane – Performance Coach

New England College: B.A. in Kinesiology, CSCS (June 2017)


​Originally from Parker, CO, Sara attended Ponderosa High School where Sara was a member of the women’s soccer team, the cross-country team, and the track team. While at Ponderosa, Sara was a Captain of the soccer and cross country teams for my junior and senior year.

Sara attended New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire where Sara received a B.A. in Kinesiology with two minors, Business and Sport and Recreation Management. At NEC, Sara was a four year member of the women’s soccer team, playing offensive center mid and was a captain for the 2016 season.

Phillip Currier – Performance Coach

Plymouth State University: B.S in Exercise and Sport Physiology, CSCS

Phil has spent most of his life in northern New Hampshire and graduated from Woodsville High School. During his four years there, he was a member of the track team, where he qualified for the Wilderness Championships in the 100m & 200m dash each year.

Due to an exceptionally small school size, not many sports teams were funded at Woodsville, and Phil began teaching himself to weight train for sport and hobby where he found a passion for fitness and performance. He attended Plymouth State University, where he tutored Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Exercise Physiology, and Introduction to Psychology while working as a lifeguard and as a nationally certified pharmacy technician. Phil honed his coaching ability through 1000+ hours of internships between APT and Dartmouth College.

Phil brings an incredible work ethic to APT where he plans to continue to further his education concerning optimal sport performance. Phil is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), and holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Physiology from Plymouth State University.
